NC0 surprised us all when she arrived back at Lowes first, with Laddie making his initial landing exactly 6 hours later. She laid her three beautiful eggs after almost near-perfect, precise intervals of 72 hours between each one. Both Laddie and NC0 have regularly exchanged incubation duties and have been very attentive to protect their eggs, and nest, from multiple intrusions during April. The hatching window will open around the 10th May, all being well.

Thanks Sandra for the new thread and info - brilliant.
I hope we see Laddie return early morning and a big fish for NCO.
(Continued from end of March/April thread)
NC0 woke up and went off for a much needed comfort break at 23:45
She arrived back a minute or so later to continue her long incubation
00:20 Have a good night's rest, NC0, hopefully Laddie will be back very early in the morning
00:25 It didn't take her long to go back to sleep

Good morning Karen, Richard and All
Still no sign of Laddie...
NC0's last meal was at 20:54 on the 29th April, she returned to the nest 25 minutes after that delivery without any remaining fish
8:07 NC0 has been constantly looking around, no vocalisations at all
She did a couple of crop drops at 7:34
8:45 HE'S BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What a wonderful sound it was to hear NC0's calls as she saw Laddie approaching the nest!
He looked wet
Cor, did she give him an earful!
Off she went
Phew!!!
Absolutely, Richard and Cathy! NC0 returned to the nest at 9:27. She was very vocal and, with Laddie resting his eyes, perhaps he didn't hear her! lol
NC0 preening. It had turned very windy
NC0 was eager to get back onto the eggs to resume her incubation
Laddie stretched his wings, NC0 still extremely vocal
Laddie left the nest at 9:31
11:09 I'm pretty sure Laddie is on the birch. NC0 keeps looking over to that area and fish calling, insistently
Yes it was Laddie. He left that branch at 11:15 and flew directly down the inlet
Hopefully, Laddie has gone off to fish
11:25 NC0 is relatively quiet now but still calling on occasion
