NC0 surprised us all when she arrived back at Lowes first, with Laddie making his initial landing exactly 6 hours later. She laid her three beautiful eggs after almost near-perfect, precise intervals of 72 hours between each one. Both Laddie and NC0 have regularly exchanged incubation duties and have been very attentive to protect their eggs, and nest, from multiple intrusions during April. The hatching window will open around the 10th May, all being well.

Catch up...
NC0 continued to vocalise. There was a landing on the birch at 14:23, I assume this was Laddie
A few minutes after, NC0 took a comfort break
The cam zoomed in
NC0 returned
The cam panned over to the birch to find Laddie preening - it appeared that he'd had a bath
Posing to dry his wings
The cam panned back to normal nest view
Laddie was still on the birch at 16:30 - NC0 was continuing to fish call
17:11 Laddie landed on the nest - no fish
NC0 was shouting as Laddie moved to the nest cup
He stood back up and moved to the side
NC0 flew off
She headed of towards the birch but flew low, left around the corner
Laddie began his incubation shift

18:09 Laddie made some soft contact calls. NC0 was on her diving branch of the birch
He rose from the eggs
He left the nest
NC0 back to the nest about a minute later
A shimmy on the eggs before settling
19:08 A lovely evening
19:15 There's beautiful evening bird song to serenade NC0 who is very quiet
Hoping now that the weather is much better, Laddie will be able to fish successfully

No elaboration as to which egg Lowes are referring to (definitely not #3 which is on the right)
Is this what they meant?
Richard B
That's exactly what I was looking at, Richard, but thought it was too close to the pointed end of the egg and usually a pip begins with raised bits of the shell. What do you think?
21:18 NC0 calling. I suppose she saw Laddie somewhere
21:45 NC0 has been quiet for a while now. It's raining again!
21:55 Night cam came on 10 minutes later this evening
