HAPPY NEW WEEK and HAPPY FULL MOON!
The moon turns full on 5 May in UK/US.
It's still chilly on my patch for May. The wee House Wrens have returned for their breeding season. They always make me happy, because they have loud, rich, bubbling songs that fill the air with joy.
I also saw a cotton-tail rabbit near the house today, happily eating weeds. Rabbits have been scarce the last couple of years, so I was glad to see it.
Everyone have a safe, serene week. Sending healing to OG and strength to EE.
Love to all!
DIANE – Thank you for a new week. Rabbits!!! They are not popular in Aussieland. In 1859 a Victorian farmer introduced 13 European rabbits to be hunted for sport and they, well, bred like rabbits. See here.
OG, EE & J – Thinking of you and hope all is improving.
LINDA – Thanks for your spring flower pics. My bulbs’ green leaves are appearing. Black Pearl and Jonquils, I think, as I am not sure now what I planted where. We’ve had a fair amount of rain and it is too sticky to weed. Our nights are cooling, expecting min 8-9 C later this week, while day temp reaches high teens. Quite pleasant though OH complains he is cold – I say “add another layer (of clothes)”!
RUSTY – Your French group sounds very interesting. It reminds me of my (adult) German class when teacher asked us to prepare a talk about a place we had visited. One lady - “When I was in London.” I was closer to home - “When I was in Sydney.” An embarrassed girl, she had not been anywhere - “When I was in the Flinders Ranges.” The Flinders are about 460 km (280 miles) north of Adelaide, without stops, a 5-hour drive.
DIBNLIB - A very belated Congratulations for your Anniversary.
Cloudy but dry here. Some of the green leaves are now appearing on the trees, following on from the blossoms.
Apple blossom outside my kitchen window.
