HAPPY NEW WEEK!

I hope everyone has a joyful week. Sending love and healing to OG and EE.

I had thought that the Cardinals had chicks, but they don't yet. I think the male was just feeding his mate.

The neighbors' chickens were loose yesterday, and they visited my yard and laid eggs. I guess it was a belated Easter gift. Lol

Everyone here was busy covering their plants today. It's turning cold again, and we have a warning for heavy frost and maybe even light snow! We had a couple of hot days,  but we can't seem to settle into spring this year. It's predicted to stay chilly the rest of the month now.

Love to all.

  • Morning all:  Sounds like multiple trips hither and yon with some nice tales attached.

AQ:  These days, we default to 'keep it easy' for family gatherings, birthdays, etc.

Rusty:  Hmmm, lots of variations on white in that jigsaw; must've been quite a challenge.   Had to smile at your post for AQ that "stuck there all pale."  :-)  Meanwhile, hope you're feeling less fragile, but maybe not a bad idea to check in with doc re 'sudden violent headache.'

A rather over-scheduled two days here; meanwhile, more gopher mounds are showing up in the garden.  :-((

  • Annette - there were indeed many shades of white and also many shades of brown. I left the kingfishers until last and they came together quite easily. I am not going to dismantle it yet after all that effort.
It is nigh on impossible to get a doctor’s appointment these days. If I get another of those headaches any time soon (which I sincerely hope I don’t) I will fill in an e consult form on the surgery website. You put in your symptoms and problems and they get back to you usually with a triage phone call from a practise nurse. Maybe then, you might get an appointment with an actual doctor!!!! I haven’t used this but a friend has and did end up getting an appointment. Goodness knows what you do if you are not au fait with the technology.
  • Annette -- I knew what Rusty meant about "all pale" as sometimes when the Site plays up, everything goes wan!
  • ‘Fraid my post for today didn’t travel from brain to fingers. Now it’s time to peel veggies for tea.
  • Good Morning. Dry here but still cloudy. Pics from yesterday to follow.

Rusty, hope the headache didn't/doesn't return.

AQ -- I know the feeling!!
  • Ditto from me, RUSTY
ANNETTE - reading between the lines, you seem to be busier than usual. I hope all is OK.
I'm coughing and spluttering still, but no Covid. Painter is coming today to assess outside jobs -
My son had his gastroscopy --nothing sinister found
  • Heather - I am really pleased to read that nothing sinister was found at your son’s gastroscopy. What a relief. Also glad t9 hear you haven’t go covid. Still a nuisance to have a cold though.
Thanks for the good wishes everyone. Touch wood, the headache hasn’t come back but I still feel a bit fragile and slightly nauseous for some reason. However, it hasn’t stopped me going birding with the ladies group this morning. We went to a local ancient woodland looking for the Pied Flycatchers. They haven’t returned! Rather sad. We saw other returnees- chiffchaff and blackcap. It was cold! Only 9 degrees and I hadn’t taken my hat and gloves!!!!
  • Heather - Good to hear about your sons investigation. One worry off the list! Sorry you're still ailing, but at least its not the dreaded virus again. I keep hearing that it's still around.

Rusty, it certainly feels colder here than was forecast, with a chilly wind getting up this afternoon, too. Darn it, I've put the heating back on.
  • Yesterday we had an outing. Went to have a walk around a small lake built from a former sand quarry. On the way, we passed through some Cheshire villages, and one of them was ablaze with Coronation decorations! Mostly knitted!!

Please forgive the blurry picture - taken in haste through the car window as we passed over a junction. But as you can just make out, they had put knitted covers on every bollard and lamp post!

  • The local church with a cardboard or wooden soldier at attention outside. Another church was festooned on every railing with red white & blue, and flags. Near it, the main postbox for the village has the best set of figures I've ever seen, showing standing on the top a full foot high King & Queen in full regalia! Just beautifully done.
