There have been a couple of smallish meals since, all 4 goshawklets are resting.

I missed seeing this. Poor Scrappy. But I see that the other chick is a non-discriminating fighter and went after the bigger chick too. Hang in there Scrappy!

*Steven: She’s in and out with a lot of pine this morning

*MJ and scylla: 10:59 Scrappy gets picked on. the aggressor chick then goes after a bigger chick a minute latter.

11:00:08 nothing like biting your sibling on the butt !

prey: 10:01:17 (bird? rodent?), 14:03:07 (squirrel)

feeding: 10:02:06, 14:14:54 (a long one)

14:35:36 older chick downed what looked to be a hind quarter! took a while. impressive.

14:37:35 to 14:39:12 older chick tried to down the tail, including head-banging that would have made rock fans proud. mom came to rescue at 14:40:35 and finished off tail

21:16:27 mom comes in with some moss.  the pancake awakens,  all hell breaks loose for a bit, mom leaves, the pancake re-forms.

Scrappy has been killed by its older sibling.

I've just found it while checking my latest session.  Am filled with horror, couldn't believe my eyes.

I had just done a tiny "Scrappy" clip from 09:00 and was looking for progress clips to add to it.

Dreadful news Scylla, takes me right back to the 'little yin' all those years ago at Loch Garten!

I am so sad, can't watch any more, sorry!

Oh dear. As SpringWatch showed this season, nature can be dastardly. I just have to remember that it is very much the survival of the fittest. Yes, Wendy, it does have dreadful memories of Little Yin.

Scylla - I can't 'Like' your vid on this occasion, but appreciate the record.

Oh darn… that was hard. I had high hopes for the little rascal, but sadly overpowered by its sibling.
