This has just appeared at Loch Garten. The Goshawk nest live webcam.

That looks fascinating, Canuck, and I'd love to do a video - but I've just completed a reboot of 3 laptops and resetting up of all tasks, cos my internet has been panties all morning and then it just gave up the ghost altogether.
I've just checked my surviving files and #4 was fine @ 15:30, with a crop not as big as the others' but quite big enough, thanks very much, and everyone was lying down peacefully

I was very worried because no food was brought in the whole morning - just twiglets for the nest - making it more likely that #4 would be picked on. Then around 14:00 a squirrel (but the tail was sub-par) arrived, I couldnt make out #4 getting morsels but look how it turned out:
Then we were treated to a long view:
Very nice crop on Scrappy. What a spirit!

Eating a very nice big piece (with a bit of a struggle ;-))
some observations for the day as of 21:00. all observations are my own unless otherwise noted by an *. 9:00 mom decides to rearrange the furniture to the detriment of the 3 older chicks who get a large twig in the face
10:24:34 mom flies in with squirrel and at 10:35:04 flies out with it. 12:15:20 returns with it
12:20:30 it's spaghetti time! the intestine that keeps on giving! i think Scrappy had a growth spurt overnight. it looks bigger today, especially in relation to its siblings. *Teyehmar: Wee one is strong enough to walk back and forth across the nest pretty quickly during periods of activity, so far so good. Here's hoping it can keep it up *john irvine: Good to see the wee one with a full crop at 15:20 prey: 10:24:34 (squirrel), 12:15:20 (same squirrel); 15:13:32 (rodent), 20:09:54 (squirrel) feeding: 10:26:10, 12:16:50 (long feeding that ends at 13:02:21 with mom downing the tail); 13:14:57; 20:10:37 20:10:06 one of the chicks drags the squirrel away from mom before she drags it back 20:15:07 a real tug of war between mom and chick for the squirrel. the chicks are getting stronger! 20:41:52 to 20:44:10 it's the case of the disappearing tail. the chicks gave it a good go but mom was the one to down it.

I thought that too, and nearly picked out the wrong one for the snap! Scrappy's crop is "droopier" than its siblings'.
Thank you for the commentary on the long feeds!

One goshawklet was looking out from the left side this morning, just for a short while - I saw this yesterday too.
Then Mama came in with a fir twiglet and swept it over the group - two efforts have not produced a successful gif, yet I have to post it
