HAPPY NEW WEEK!
I hope everyone has a great week. Sending all of you good wishes who have flu or covid (or have family who've tested positive). Take care all!
Well done on the crocus planting, Rusty! I have some bulbs to put in on our return. Thank you from me for the interesting & beautiful singing, Rusty and Pat. I do love a big choir, and it's hard to beat a beautiful Welsh Male Voice Choir! We hired a car for a couple of days, and so yesterday set off to go to a place up the coast which we have enjoyed in the past. A small port for small vessels with some interesting architecture. For instance, this Cafe looks as if it should be in New Orleans!
Don't forget to touch the pictures to enlarge them if they look interesting.
Up through the island, passing several volcanoes on the way!
At the top of our climb, a panoramic view of the town we are staying in, in the distance, with the shadow of the island of Fuerteventura across the sea beyond. The road ahead winds back down to sea level.
Behind us, when looking at the view, is this simple old church. Photos especially for AQ!
It's beautifully kept and painted.
By the door is this plaque, showing its age as February 17th 1733!!!!
Next to the church are some houses with the old style wooden balconies projecting from the upper rooms.
Lindybird. Looks nice and green on that drive up the mountain. And that church has the same sort of style- the bell tower, and arched entrance as some of the California missions that the Spanish established as early as 1769.
AQ: I tried to watch that TV show on the Surfliner, but it won't play in the U.S. Hope you enjoyed it. I've done all that ride at one time or another and it really is lovely.
