Olwen ate until around 18.25 when she stopped, had a quick fly around and landed on the perch.
About a couple of minutes later LJ2 came to the nest and took the fish remains away.
Just after 19.00 LM6 flew in with a live fish
She was immediately followed by a juvenile
Ah hello, it’s Gelert!LM6 held onto the fish and fed Gelert.
Olwen arrived towards the end of the feed
and joined Gelert and LM6.
Tuesday, 9th August
Good morning everyone. The clock is ticking, I’ll cherish each day we have left with these wonderful birds.
A wee visit to the nest around 05.30, the youngsters (Gelert on perch) and adult in the air.
All birds have been on and off the nest this morning. At one point when LM6 was there around 11.00, a distinct splash could be heard, like an Osprey dive, at least 4 times in short succession. Wonder if someone is practising?!
LM6 certainly doesn’t need the practice and brought a headless fish to the nest at 11.27. Olwen was there on the perch waiting.
A few moments after LM6 had landed, Olwen realised she had a fish and flew down to the nest and accepted a feed from LM6.
13.45 and Gelert was first to the nest as he saw LM6 arriving with a fish. Both chicks had been on the nest beforehand so were very close by.
Olwen arrived at almost the same time as LM6 (you can see her talons in photo above) but it was Gelert who took the fish.
Gelert was squealing with delight as he mantled over the fish and took it into position for eating.
Thursday 11th August Good morning all. Still waiting to see our ospreys again. Hope live stream gets fixed soon.
