So, we now enter August knowing that we will only have the pleasure of watching this beautiful family all together for a limited number of weeks. Both LP8 and LR0 have transformed into two strong, independent individuals. Their attentive parents have continued to provide for and nurture them and this, in turn, has given the juveniles a basis to continue their growth into full adulthood, wherever they decide to settle during the next couple of years.Last season, NC0 began her southerly migration on the 22nd August; Laddie on the 25th (these dates were their last webcam sightings). We can only hope that all of the 2022 family have safe, unhindered journeys to warmer climes, aided by fair winds as well as an abundance of fish along the way, and that we will welcome Laddie and NC0 back to this stunning Loch of the Lowes location in the spring of 2023.

Someone flew to birch, then someone came around the corner and flew to the nest perch - not at all clear but it's got the time on
IMAGICAT
Morning Scylla and all,
LP8 is 96 days old, LR0 is 94 days old
Thank you for the vids! LP8's eye looked fine while on the nest at 7:06. Both juvies have been fish calling - LR0 was on the cam post at the time
Breakfish is yet to be delivered
ENS and very quiet at present (7:16)

Morning to you too!
I've been doing this vid for you - it's the performance of one on the perch, another unseen on the campost, I presume, but I can't see a fly-in or a cambump. The one on the perch does a very animated tantrum-dance at the end. Sorry about the long nothing-happening-except-screeching bit, I didn't have the heart to shorten it. A Raven had been popping on 'n off the nest and may have been taunting nearby.
Aww, bless you, Scylla!
9:39 Laddie arrived to an empty nest with a fish. LR0 flew in to take it from him
After announcing to whoever was listening that he had a fish, he took it off to the birch
10:55 LP8 could be heard fish calling on the cam post - such high-pitched tones like NC0!
Flew off at 10:56

Aww, what lovely news!
Still ENS. There have been no further fish deliveries
Egyptian Geese with one gosling
Googling how many eggs would probably have been laid, I've come up with clutch sizes 5-10, 5-11, 5-12 and 8-9
Well, whichever is right, it looks as tho our Lowes couple didn't have an easy time bringing up their brood.
(Along the way I read that EGs have never been known to breed in Cheshire or the Wirrall, so Scotland is doing well.)
I remember NC0 bringing a 'live' pike to the nest, perhaps caught in the Loch. Maybe that could be the reason for only one gosling? Of course, there would be other predators too.
16:05 I wonder if Laddie is on the birch? Juvies were shouting! (and still are at 16:14)
