So, we now enter August knowing that we will only have the pleasure of watching this beautiful family all together for a limited number of weeks.Both LP8 and LR0 have transformed into two strong, independent individuals. Their attentive parents have continued to provide for and nurture them and this, in turn, has given the juveniles a basis to continue their growth into full adulthood, wherever they decide to settle during the next couple of years.Last season, NC0 began her southerly migration on the 22nd August; Laddie on the 25th (these dates were their last webcam sightings). We can only hope that all of the 2022 family have safe, unhindered journeys to warmer climes, aided by fair winds as well as an abundance of fish along the way, and that we will welcome Laddie and NC0 back to this stunning Loch of the Lowes location in the spring of 2023.

15.6.22: At 23 days old, chick #3 passed away
27.6.22: Our osprey chicks have been ringed! (Genders not able to be positively determined, ? both males)
Chick #1: LP8 (39 days old) - wing measurement = 360mm, weight = 1.5kg
Chick #2: LR0 (37 days old) - wing measurement = 315mm, weight = 1.44kg
Fledge dates: LP8 - 13.7.22 (10:06) 55 days old LR0 - 15.7.22 (13:55) 55 days old
Migration/Last Seen dates: NC0 - 11.8.22 Laddie - 26.8.22 LP8 (100 do) and LR0 (98 do) - 27.8.22

LP8 left the nest at 21:19, headed towards the birch, then made a short circular flight over the Loch in that area before heading low behind the birch itself (where it usually goes at roosting time)
LR0 flew off 5 minutes later, landing on NC0's favourite birch perch (his reflection can clearly be seen)
At 21:39ish, one (I assume LR0 as his reflection from the birch wasn't visible) flew towards and then behind the nest, shouting
He turned and flew behind the trees at the back of the nest to then approach the nest perch
He misjudged his landed and headed downwards and off to the right
Night cam then came on, nearby calling could be heard for a few moments after
Such a relief to see Laddie this evening . Hoping for a large breakfish delivery from him early in the morning

Weather and mad osprey voices, then geese.
(I had taken off timeline for a Clywedog rollback and forgot to put it back again - hence got in a muddle. Some of this has too much "nothing" but it was supposed to show sound, may not have worked out.)
If you manage to stick with the long episode of screeching, I hope you'll agree that one of the voices breaks into "skydancy" tones at times.
Just now - landing with screeches, which continue, and another voice can be heard:

06:01 Juvie flies in with FISH !!!
It may have flown in from around the corner but I can't see on this screen-capture, am going to have another look in the download.

Yes, see the top left corner, it flies out of sight and sib leaves the birch to follow it:
Juvie with fish is a tiny white dot speeding from right to left and out of the pic, to return as shown in my first vid.
Morning Scylla (and all)
I woke up early so checked the cam (on the TV), Saw LP8 eating a fish on the nest - fantastic, I thought. Scrolled back to its flight to the nest. Oh my goodness, LP8 gave itself a good shake of its feathers/flap of its wings after landing so can only assume that it caught the fish? The tail of the whole perch flapped when LP8 moved its position

At 7:17, LP8 walked away from its (assumed) catch, LR0 picked up the tail end of fish. Laddie then delivered a HUGE headless fish which LR0 took from him!
LR0 had released his grip on the fish tail
LP8 flew from the nest to the birch at 7:20. The discarded fish tail remained on the nest
7:45 A crow popped onto the nest and snatched the discarded fish tail. After posing with it on the perch, it took it away
8:04 LR0 continuing to enjoy his breakfish
What a great start to the day!
9:26 LR0 left the nest with the remainder of his fish after watching a bird fly across the Loch, heading to, and then landing on, the birch (LP8 was on NC0's perch, there was no reaction)
He flew off to the right, sounding off a few alarm calls,. A crow jumped onto the nest
9:28 LP8 flew from the birch to the nest perch to shoo off the crow
I don't know what the crow was so engrossed in doing but it did jump off moments later
patily said:WOW! SANDRA It looks very much like LR0 caught its own breakfast
It was LP8, Patily, that brought it to the nest and yes, it very much did appear to have caught its own fish - how fab is that!
