So, we now enter August knowing that we will only have the pleasure of watching this beautiful family all together for a limited number of weeks. Both LP8 and LR0 have transformed into two strong, independent individuals. Their attentive parents have continued to provide for and nurture them and this, in turn, has given the juveniles a basis to continue their growth into full adulthood, wherever they decide to settle during the next couple of years.Last season, NC0 began her southerly migration on the 22nd August; Laddie on the 25th (these dates were their last webcam sightings). We can only hope that all of the 2022 family have safe, unhindered journeys to warmer climes, aided by fair winds as well as an abundance of fish along the way, and that we will welcome Laddie and NC0 back to this stunning Loch of the Lowes location in the spring of 2023.

LP8 arrived at the nest a short time after the delivery
9:15 LR0 stopped eating, made a few contact calls and took the fish off the nest
LP8 remained on the nest, occasionally fish calling and headed off at 9:27ish
10:50 It has been ENS since

18:27 LR0 on the perch. LP8 is on the birch after flying there from the nest a little while ago
After having a quick scroll through the footage, I can't find any other fish deliveries or visits from Laddie since this morning
At around 18:40ish, LP8 dived from the birch
Back onto the birch
LP8 came back to the nest at 18:42 and had a good flap of its wings
LP8 left the nest for a flight over the Loch, behind the nest, and landed on the perch that had been vacated by LR0
Both shared the perch until LR0 flew off to the birch at 19:15ish
A dive from LR0 at 19:41ish
LR0 flew to the right over the Loch then did a u-turn as if going towards the birch area...
...but he didn't go there as he turned again and headed to the right. LP8 watched LR0's flight as he headed past the trees on the other side of the Loch (too difficult to get a pic of that)
LR0 landed on the cam post at 19:52. Both he and LP8 fish called
LR0 headed back to the birch at 20:03
Both were on the nest at 20:36 shouting for fish
LR0 left the nest at 20:39ish and headed directly to the birch
LP8 remained on the nest fish calling
Then, after some flapping and jumping close to the front edge of the nest, flew off
A flight over the Loch towards the birch and, as usual, headed behind the area marked
It wasn't long after LP8 went to roost that LR0 changed his position on the birch
He was still there just before night cam came on at 21:10
The last fish I've seen LP8 receive from Laddie on the nest was yesterday morning at 8:24. I hope he arrives with breakfish bright and early in the morning!
Posted on LotL Fb this morning
The blog, as mentioned within the Fb post:
Homeward Bound – Ospreys on the Move
Morning all,
LP8 is 99 days old, LR0 is 97 days old
5:40 Both were at the nest fish calling - LP8 on the perch
8:13 LP8 was on the perch shouting for fish, as was LR0 on the cam post
LR0 flew off from the cam post at 8:15 quickly followed by LP8
LR0 landed on the birch
LP8 headed behind the birch
No visits from Laddie as yet...
A wet LR0 paid a brief visit to the nest at 8:57
Flying low from beyond the birch corner
A good shake
Off again
He could be seen landing on a branch in the area to his left
9:24 Presently, LP8 is on the perch
After lots of preening while on the perch, LP8 headed off to the birch at 9:56
Still there at 10:06
