5F Seren hatched at nest K, Rutland, from parents Red 08 (m) and Yellow 30 (f). Chris Wood, who volunteers at the Rutland osprey project, has been following her for at least 7 years to Tanji Marsh in the Gambia. She has been at this nest with Dylan since 2020, after suffering abandonment by bigamist Aran at Pont Croesor.
Dylan is unringed, he's been breeding at this nest since 2016, when he ousted dear Dai Dot.

The chicks have been ringed this morning - early on, just the one showed us a ring - 553.
It didn't take long for a parent to return:
IMAGICAT
THREE Jays, I think :o
I only glimpsed the possible third popping its head up over the back fence.
EDIT - Definitely three :)))

Mum, Dad & youngster? Just a sample:
Back to early morning - Seren brought a WHOPPER, 555 was waiting and insisted on hendling it himself:

Looking at the end of the jay video, I’d say the 2 on the nest were both chicks so that would be a family of 4 then? Great capture Scylla, seldom would we see a jay so close.
Jays are back this morning - but I got started very, very late (and BTW Cam2 was just buffering all the time).
Regarding the Jays, yesterday I was googling them for "youngster" details and came across this:
Eurasian Jay’s common call is a loud, raucous screech “skaaak-shraaak” which be often repeated if the bird is threatened. It also gives wide variety of notes often based on mimicry. These notes usually become softer, forming a subdued warbling song. It is able to imitate the Eurasian Buzzard call!

I think that Dylan was on/off the nest a bit earlier, watchful, and now someone is back - very watchful, I think it's Seren this time but she's got her back to us. She's threatened to mantle a couple of times. We await developments.
(However, I have been in a constant state of tech troubleshooting for days and keep ricking my neck when attracted by movement on the Clywedog screen, but can't stop and focus on it.)
EDIT - Yes, it was Seren, she's gone now:
Dylan protesting at intruder:
When he flew Seren replaced him within a couple of seconds - it looked as tho she flew up to the high perch but Cam2 is buffering still:
Dylan was back:
I think this was Seren flying in to support:
His ickle face :-*
The cam went into a buffer and when I refreshed it the nest was empty.
(All those snaps were in the wrong order, I hope they're OK now - if they're not, it won't be for want of effort!)
