Things continued to go well at the beginning of June and on the 4th, we celebrated a record nine fish delivery day from Laddie. During the following week, the number of fish brought to the nest took a sudden decline and with this, we witnessed chick #3 befalling to sibling aggression - first from chick #1 and then chick #2. Very sadly, this then led to the dear Osplet being blocked from getting close to NC0 for feeding. Devastatingly, after a very early fish delivery on the morning of the 15th June, the middle chick subjected the youngest to a severe attack from which, in its weakened state, it could not get up from. The little one passed away on the nest a few hours later at the age of 23 days old.
Soar high and free, brave #3 - you will always be remembered...
Subsequent to the passing of the youngest chick, fish deliveries from Laddie began to increase with him even outdoing his previous record by bringing an amazing ten to the nest on a single day. NC0 made her first dive from the split birch (since the chicks had hatched) on the 24th June and brought her catch back to the nest, much to the surprise of the chicks! The youngsters have continued to grow at an amazing rate and, on the evening of the 27th June - at the ages of 39 and 37 days old respectively - they were ringed. Their genders could not be determined. A milestone for the chicks was observed on the evening of the 29th June when both self-fed and the following day, LR0 showed its strength of character to successfully claim two fish!Hopefully, LP8 and LR0 will continue to do well and that we will witness their successful fledges this month.

No fish deliveries have been brought to the nest this afternoon so far.
Laddie did come to the nest with a twiggy stick at 14:40ish. He was joined by LR0 who was food begging. LP8, I assume, was flying around. Both juvies had been over by the birch
At present, LP8 is on the nest perch
I'm away from my computer for a few hours, will check back later. BFN

NC0 dived from the birch, headed back to the feeding post then delivered a headless fish at 16:20ish to LP8, who was still on the perch
At 19:18, NC0 left the nest where she had been with LP8 and LR0.
As soon as she landed on the birch, Laddie flew in with a small live fish.
Laddie released his grip and in the melee between the juvies, the fish flapped over the back edge of the nest, next to the perch
NC0 delivered a fish at 19:53ish. She had flown from beyond the birch, LP8 (reflection highlighted) was hot on her tail to get to the nest where LR0 was already waiting
LR0 grabbed hold of NC0's talons at first
Then took the fish. LP8 looked on
LR0, behind LP8, had eaten all of the fish at 20:26
20:46 Scene at present. LP8 on the nest calling for fish. NC0, I'd imagine, is on the birch (reflection in the oval)
21:29 A fish from NC0 to LP8 after a dive from the birch
The small fish flapped
Finally contained
There have been two further fish deliveries from Laddie since then
21:40ish LP8 was still on the nest to claim this one
21:58 NC0 flapped down from the cam post to take this headless one while LP8 was still eating its fish
NC0 fed LP8 some of the fish
22:24 NC0 eating the fish tail. LP8 on the perch
22:40 I wonder if LR0 is spending the night on the birch again?
Morning all,
ENS at present though it sounds as if a juvie is fish calling above the cam. NC0, LP8 and LR0 have all been on and off the nest - no fish delivery as yet.

12:52 Still no fish deliveries. ENS at present
Some activity this morning from scroll back...
8:52ish NC0, LP8 and LR0 were screeching for fish as Laddie approached the nest. He brought a stick instead!
9:25ish NC0 brought a long strand of grassy material
11:36ish LP8 and LR0 (front) screeching for fish as Laddie came to the nest but he only brought a clump of moss! LP8 wasn't happy at all and attacked Laddie
