Just as we had hoped, the middle of May proved to be a wonderful time with three successful hatches. Laddie, with his prolific fishing skills, is providing extremely well for his family and NC0’s attentive feeding for all three Osplets, is an absolute joy to watch! Let's hope everything continues to go well.

Cont'd...
The majority of this feed (it didn't take long!) was given to #2, #1 did get some bites as well. No aggression shown throughout though #2, on the left, was wary of #1 at the start
NCO called for more once this fish was all gone.
Off to work shortly. BFN

It's interesting to see how the dynamics have changed. Let's hope Laddie can bring in enough fish now to satisfy two growing and hungry chicks.
All looks peaceful at the moment.

billy r said:It puzzles me why they have put a warning on webcam about there being a dead animal when quite frequently you see a sometimes live fish being torn apart to feed the youngsters.
People just don't think of fish as having "feelings", Billy - which is a belief that may be changing!
Changing the subject - just now NC0, who'd been calling and calling, got blow'd over by gusts - I was dreading what might happen when one of the chicks got up but it was OK:

A quick check while on my lunch break. Three additional fish have been brought to the nest: One just after 10:20, another at 11:00ish and just now at 13:00. Will add some pics here when I come home. BFN
Edit:
10:20ish A 'live' fish. #1 didn't join in with the feed at the start due to making a couple of attempts to expel a pellet, which it managed to do. It was then more interested with eating .

#1 threatened #2 before the first piece was offered
There was more aggression from #1 at the front of the nest. #2 wandered around to the left side to receive its fish
20:24 Although there's still a distance between them, both chicks have settled into the feed which NC0 is sharing out fairly
