Just as we had hoped, the middle of May proved to be a wonderful time with three successful hatches. Laddie, with his prolific fishing skills, is providing extremely well for his family and NC0’s attentive feeding for all three Osplets, is an absolute joy to watch! Let's hope everything continues to go well.

Birdies LG DU update.
I have just looked back to the dreadful sustained attack by #2 on #3 just after 06.00 this morning. Thank goodness I've not witnessed (or remembered!) such an attack for years. As I mentioned on Sunday I had spent four hours at LotL and during that time Laddie wasn't in sight, let alone him bringing a fish, so I had no idea of the sibling rivalry. Added to which I spent most of the time watching the nest and the Loch from the hide, not the cam in the hide, but I wasn't aware of any fighting then - probably because of the lack of fish. As much as we might 'hate' #2 for the brutality, at least there are two healthy chicks at LotL which hopefully fledge successfully and migrate, to return in two or three years' time. It is really such a sad sight now. Will the body just get covered and buried or will NC0 remove it? I am unsure.

My first introduction to the world of Ospreys back in 2012 ... wasn't that poor little chick referred to as 'wee yin'?, it was heartbreaking, no wonder I followed Peregrines after that, they rarely squabble!
