5F Seren hatched at nest K, Rutland, from parents Red 08 (m) and Yellow 30 (f). Chris Wood, who volunteers at the Rutland osprey project, has been following her for at least 7 years to Tanji Marsh in the Gambia. She has been at this nest with Dylan since 2020, after suffering abandonment by bigamist Aran at Pont Croesor.
Seren returned on 26 March 2022.
Dylan is unringed, he's been breeding at this nest since 2016, when he ousted dear Dai Dot.

KS7's intrusion - no name for him, as John Williams, very considerately IMHO, leaves naming to those in charge of the nest he decides to breed on
He was so excited, he couldn't stop to pose for the camera:
Unknown said:Dylan has on occasion had bad press for not bringing enough fish while Seren 5F was incubating. 2 perch and a rainbow trout today
I'm doing very badly re continuous recording because of the morning and evening changeovers - I'm rarely on duty at the crucial times and can't afford the drive space to leave it on auto (it will record multiple 4-hour clips when the cams cut off), so I miss loads.
Here was breakfish - and oh dang, I forgot how long but she wasn't gone long:
Then from screen captures - but I missed maybe the first 3 hours of the day session.
Such a clear cam with (at this time) not too garish colour:
There was a one-quarter portion brought in between 17:30 and 18:00, not req'd by Seren, probably her leftover anyway.
That'll do, am well and truly flagging and here is Dylan now:
Seren has been grooming for ages......nearly 15 mins so far.......and I thought Dylan was getting impatient but no, bless hum, he was just standing up to change position
Dylan's arrived, mantling - is his son back?
Oh what a luvverly fish !!!
Seren back
