I think this will be an interesting season at Loch Arkaig - who is going to take residence is the big question?
For me it doesn't matter who, just as long as the nest is occupied.

An interesting event happened at Loch Garten, so rare that George himself raised it on the Loch Arkaig forum so I'm posting it here;
Asha brings a LIVE BIRD and eats it on the nest

Those stills of the tawny attack are so dramatic Geemeff. The speed that wee owl flies in at! As well as Willow having a heart attack, Sarafina must’ve been a nervous wreck all night too.It’s crazy but only yesterday I was thinking of Dorcha and the owl attacks, wondering if they don’t happen anymore since the chicks are grown up now and the owl’s ones will have fledged too!
The attack was a big surprise, usually they stop by mid-June when the owlets have fledged. Maybe an inexperienced juvelile? Speculation is Willow might have spent the night in the branches below the nest, but who knows. The good thing is, she seems unharmed and has been popping on and off the nest yesterday and today - but did spend the night elsewhere. My video clip is in slo-mo, real-time is even more dramatic!
