I think this will be an interesting season at Loch Arkaig - who is going to take residence is the big question?
For me it doesn't matter who, just as long as the nest is occupied.

Dear Louis! Such a good dad.
10.24.03 Fish number three, headless BT. He's certainly making up for the minnow! Dorcha has to push her way through two feathery bundles to get to it.
Louis leaves quickly, alarm calling.
14.24.20 Fish number four, whole Brown Trout
18.47.28 Fish number five, headless BT
Ringing news! From George WTS this morning: Our ringer Lewis Pate is due to ring the chicks on our livestream nest in the next couple of days. Over the weekend Lewis visited the two closest occupied nests - at Bunarkaig to the east of Loch Arkaig and at the nest at the far western end of Loch Arkaig. He found single chicks at each nest. He judged the Bunarkaig chick to be too young to ring yet, and will return at a later date. The chick at the western end of the loch was ringed LV3, believed to be male.
04.22.49 Fish number one, small headless BT, doesn't last long.
12.56.32 Fish number two, whole BT, light lunch. Dorcha arrives right behind Louis, who does a drop and fly - nest's looking crowded these days, especially when the chicks do their wingercises.
Sandra P said:Two very feisty chicks there, Geemeff! I wonder what those insects were?
Whatever they were, they gave an interesting effect.
14.38.29 fish number three, called in by C2, I think. Whole trout. Dorcha arrives moments later, jumping down from the perch.
