I think this will be an interesting season at Loch Arkaig - who is going to take residence is the big question?
For me it doesn't matter who, just as long as the nest is occupied.

10.27 chicks battle to establish the pecking order, mum just watches
18.15 Chicks stop fighting and get a feed from mum when dad brings fish
22.29 Louis departs with his late night snack stuck to his beak
VRY windy. Lovely to see them together Dorcha is nagging Louis but I'm not sure he could fish in this wind anyway, although he has just flown off without much difficulty
C WT Loch Arkaig
Wonder if he dropped it last night? Has been on and off the nest this morning but no fish, just moss and cot rails. Too windy maybe.
08.10.46 Fish number one, small whole trout. Well done Louis in all that wind and now rain.
19.47 Lots of flying past the nest going on, Louis dive bombing crows
12.44 Nest 1 a pair of Crossbills visit - spotted and ID'd by Liz Bracken so accurately ID'd!
I noted a couple of days ago that it was hardly getting dark at night - and last night / this morning night cam didn't come on at all on Nest One, and only for a couple of hours on Nest two, with the background visible. No wonder Louis is able to do all this early morning fishing.
