Poole Harbour Ospreys 2022

Thanks, Alison, that is very clearly an Eagle; how wonderful to see one again!  But I bet you were not trying very hard to leave, considering the birdie possibilities if you stayed on--Lol! Anyway, the RSPB benefitted from our leaving early since we had some lovely soup and a pasty (after we retreated inside the cafe to avoid sharing with the wasps or accidentally swallowing one), and then I did my best to buy out the shop. My excuse is that some of it is Christmas pressies for others.

I’m sure the RSPB were very happy to see you in the shop!

Moderator on Poole Harbour chat confirmed that last sightings of CJ7 and 5H1 were on Monday 29th August and 022 was yesterday 30th August and believe they have started their migration.

Safe journey beautiful ospreys and see you next year/year after next. ️

Sad to see them go, but all in all a great season despite the loss of 5H2.

So wonderful to see CJ7 finally become a mum. She never stopped trying and found a fantastic mate in 022. What beautiful, strong chicks they produced. RIP 5H2 Can’t wait for their return next year and we’ll get a better view of the nest with sound too!!

I read earlier that 022 had reappeared--is that true? I know some adults and juveniles take mini holidays away before actually migrating. The female at Dyfi, Telyn/3J, had 2 mini holidays this year before heading south for her winter hols.
