CAPTIVA OSPREYS - Andy & Lena
I'd been posting in "Forum Friends", here's a snap brought over, for the sake of starting this thread with something!
IMAGICAT
Lovely captures Scylla and very smart of R23-3 ! She'll accept the juvies to secure the nest. size is almost certainly gender . Females are always bigger in the eagle and hawk line - I forget the proper terminology ) (n Osprey of course) Not so in song birds - they are just , generally, more dowdy in colour cos they are sitting on nests and need camouflage

Thank you, CIRRUS - certain people cannot be reminded too often! However, in this instance I should have said - I added "dominance?" because the elder had been so aggressive from hatching and I/we couldn't bear to stick around to find out how long it prevented #2 from eating, so I thought there was a possibility that the latter was stunted.
What can one say ! ..............
M15 delivered a TAIL (opossum? no idea) to the nest and R23-3 was in like a shot and stole it! She ate some and flew off to what they call the Church Snag, and there she appeared to drop it along with some other debris - or did she sick something up?
I'm not sure if there was 'natural' material attached to the bark of the branch that dropped(?), Scylla, but I can see that her beak was open and she shook her head as if she was 'sicking' up. Thanks for the vid.
Moorings Park Naples
HiNot sure where to post this (as it is 'other nest' but not 2022).
But last night an osplet hatched at Osprey Live Stream Moorings Park Naples, FL (Harry and Sally) (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5RvQJ-cObc0 )
Can't wait for our UK birds to arrive (and all the others)

A new pair has adopted the nest - I don't know any post-hurricane history, was just checking all the cam links in 2022 Osprey Chat and found it:

At the start of last season we covered bits of the Dutch VISAREND nest - here's their short end of season video, looks like it was very successful with some mini-dramas on the way. I can't provide a translation, but you'll get the idea.
