Contrasting trees:
SWFL (on the left):
NEFL's wonderful tree, virtually undamaged (SWFL's used to look a bit like this) - but of course NEFL was not directly in the hurricane's path:

What a day it has been.. it was perfect fishing weather (warm, cloudy) and dad caught 7 fish.
And the chicks are doing so well. Sometimes a bit of a spat, but never at feeding (all line up neatly for mum to offer food)
But I did make a video for today.. so enjoy

Really bad weather last night with rain and wind... mum is a bit careless and... goes head over heels in a wind gust (hmm, dad too a few weeks ago)
Aww
Or, English expressions... "base over apex", "ass over tip" (but that might be unofficial Cornish
Any more, anyone?
I've seen both Monty and Idris do the same. Not to be made fun of - I mean- think of their dignity
Lochter
I've just come across a link to an update to the Lochter nest which I used to keep an eye on. There were a number of sad years when chicks were taken from the nest by local buzzards, but this year they had FOUR chicks! It's somewhat late to be reporting the success, but I am delighted to read it!! The article is in The Scottish Farmer, which may or may not have been posted four hours ago. It lacks any useful detail.
The Press and Journal must have used the same data.

Harriet and M15 are rebuilding their nest
Nice post from wskrsnwings
'Harriet & M15 have made good progress on building a new nest in the exact spot the old nest was in the original nest tree. Hurricane IAN blew the old nest out of the tree but that did not deter our couple. On my visit today, I saw both H & M as they watched their nest from a ways away.'
