CAPTIVA OSPREYS - Andy & Lena
I'd been posting in "Forum Friends", here's a snap brought over, for the sake of starting this thread with something!

Glider said:Tweed Valley Ospreys Thank goodness Glen found that ship to rest on and glad to hear he’s back on land again. So sad about Kirk. I was a bit nervous for him when I heard he was travelling in a westerly direction and then hanging about a wind farm - not a great location for ospreys. Poor wee soul. Will they try and find him?
People in Ireland have been out to the area, but his data stops over the sea. However, as Bart points out, the battery is showing full. So there is still a mystery to be unravelled. We have just heard Glen's story - his tracker stopped transmitting, he nearly missed land but found not one but two ships to rest on, verified by Sacha Dench speaking to the two captains after the ships were identified via the vessel finder app. They confirm their being at those co-ordinates at that time. After speaking to Sacha, they went to check - and feathers were found!!!
So, a slight chance - very very slim - but still a chance for Kirk. Think of the Osprey lost in the Sahara for nine days - then she reappeared safe and sound.
Bart molenaar said:There are still some questions with no answers. As is told in the interview by Sasha with Diane https://youtu.be/MVRMoBqoF5M the gps device is still saying it’s has a full battery, it’s just not transmitting gps data. Experts on the gps system are getting involved to explain it. Also.. if they still see the battery status he’s still in range of a communication mast.. Chances are slim, but nothing certain
Indeed, a very slim chance but better than no chance at all. And after his brother Glen's miraculous escape and that of the unringed juvenile Osprey far out to sea who landed on - of all boats - Boaty MacBoatface, a slim chance is (sort of) hopeful.
