As the 2021 Osprey season at Loch of the Lowes enters its final stage, it is reassuring to know how very well LR1 and LR2 are faring in the build-up to their first migration. Laddie (LM12) and NC0 (who, it is thought, will soon start her long journey south) are continuing to provide for, and protect, these wonderful (and loud!), young juveniles. Last month, it was fantastic to see the confidence in both LR1 and LR2 when they took to the sky for the first time, as well as watching them practise their spectacular diving skills into the Loch - sights to behold! With only a short number of precious weeks that we have remaining viewing Laddie, NC0 and their family on the webcam, let us hope everything continues to go well.
Cont'd...
LR2 stayed for a while before heading off to the birch at 20:38ish
His landing better seen in the reflection

Laddie delivering a fish supper tonight.
Here we go again - this evening it took 30 seconds to find her fly-off, don't know why it was such a problem before.
This is (probably) NC0's last fish of the season from Laddie and her (probable) visit to and fly-off from the campost the next morning:
.
Maybe there's something else you want done, SANDRA? I've still got several days' worth here, am off to do other nests now but will be back to check.

IMAGICAT
VERY misty and the nest looks rather wet

Good morning Geemeff, Scylla, Patily and all
7:10 The sun appears to be burning off the early morning mist. LR2 on his birch branch
GEEMEFF, many thanks for the video. I do hope Laddie comes to the nest today so we can see that all is well with his leg
SCYLLA, the only other thing of note was a possible overhead intrusion on the 24th (just after 16:15) Link to post. Well done for finding the flyaway!

Intruder? overhead
Sandra P said:If it was an intruder, it may have landed above the cam. LR2 did look up in that direction on a few occasions but was also fish calling
Easy enough to find, with LR2's guidance - but the only thing a video would add is the fleeting shadow on the nest just before the wing flying away. I can't enhance the sound to pick up movement on the campost because His Little Lordship is so loud!
I am in awe that you pick up these things from rollback, I couldn't do it in a million years
Time for me to pack up now, g'night till later.
Scylla, I only look for any nest activity, go back a little bit just before any landings and then take it from there
11:45 No Osprey activity seen on the nest this morning (from what I can find). It's very unusual not to have at least a perch visit from LR2 - gosh, it's so quiet!
17:00 No Osprey visits to the nest seen....
17:09 Someone has landed on the cam post - alarm then fish calling, it's got to be LR2. Flight unseen.
17:10 Edit - unsure at the moment if he's flown off
17:23 He's just flown. Wing tip seen on the left of screen. A couple of calls on departure
Edit - they were difficult to capture but managed these snaps after more than a few attempts! lol
