25.10.21 - LR2 still in Southern Spain
As the 2021 Osprey season at Loch of the Lowes enters its final stage, it is reassuring to know how very well LR1 and LR2 are faring in the build-up to their first migration. Laddie (LM12) and NC0 (who, it is thought, will soon start her long journey south) are continuing to provide for, and protect, these wonderful (and loud!), young juveniles. Last month, it was fantastic to see the confidence in both LR1 and LR2 when they took to the sky for the first time, as well as watching them practise their spectacular diving skills into the Loch - sights to behold! With only a short number of precious weeks that we have remaining viewing Laddie, NC0 and their family on the webcam, let us hope everything continues to go well.

Morning Korky, you're welcome :) Yes, I'm quite surprised NC0's still here and bringing a fish on a daily basis (regularly since the 6th) - she won't let her 'babies' go hungry! Scrolling through the footage, LR2 has been on and off the nest (fish calling). I can't find that there have been any fish deliveries as yet
Edit - sounds like one is sitting above the nest with the amount of screeching that can be heard!
9:03 LR2 onto the nest (noisily from the birch), LR1 (or was this Laddie with a fish?) flew to the birch area and then landed on the second from left branch. An adult? had landed on NC0's branch
9:18 I think it is Laddie on the birch, movements show that 'it' appears to be eating. LR2 still waiting
9:43 Whoever it is on the birch has moved onto a branch to the right
9:45 LR2 screeching and mantling. No reaction from the one on the birch
9:50
9:54 A low aircraft? passed over, LR2 left the nest
He's since returned
Hi Cirrus, my pleasure Due to the webcam nest not being used, Lowes could only give a rough estimation of the 3rd August when she left on migration last season. Each time we see her on the nest now is an absolute bonus. :)
