As the 2021 Osprey season at Loch of the Lowes enters its final stage, it is reassuring to know how very well LR1 and LR2 are faring in the build-up to their first migration. Laddie (LM12) and NC0 (who, it is thought, will soon start her long journey south) are continuing to provide for, and protect, these wonderful (and loud!), young juveniles. Last month, it was fantastic to see the confidence in both LR1 and LR2 when they took to the sky for the first time, as well as watching them practise their spectacular diving skills into the Loch - sights to behold! With only a short number of precious weeks that we have remaining viewing Laddie, NC0 and their family on the webcam, let us hope everything continues to go well.
I've checked online to find that there have been reports of BT/O2 outages in Dunkeld and nearby areas since this morning. Perhaps, if indeed BT or O2 are LotL's provider, this is the reason why the cam is off?
Cam back online just over 10 minutes ago, just in time to see a fish delivery by NC0 to LR1 at 18:17 LR2 was, like this morning, shouting above the cam and didn't come down to make a claim.
She made a head gesture towards NC0, who then flew off the nest
LR1 tucked in to her fish (over several places on the nest) but then headed off with it at 18:24ish
LR2 came onto the nest once LR1 had left. He looked around for some morsels to eat (exactly the same as this morning as well!)

LR2 received a headless fish from Laddie at 18:35ish
LR2 finished eating his fish almost 30 minutes after receiving it
Fish tail in his beak
20:10 There's an unseen intruder in the area.
LR2 came to the nest (from the birch) to clear a corvid from it just after 19:30
He began to mantle and look around. Alarm calling/chipping could be heard, most probably in the area of the birch where I assume NC0 and LR1 were on their branches
Tracking something
19:55 Chipping and alarm calling heard
20:13 Things were a lot quieter
He flew from the nest approx. 20:17 where he headed to, then over and beyond the left side of the birch (making a few calls as he reached that area)
Good morning,
7:00 A very misty start to the day. ENS
7:07 A brief visit to the perch - a very noisy LR2 (84 days old). No one seen up until that point
8:07 LR2 is currently back on the perch
Edit - now moved to the nest calling...imminent fish delivery?
