As the 2021 Osprey season at Loch of the Lowes enters its final stage, it is reassuring to know how very well LR1 and LR2 are faring in the build-up to their first migration. Laddie (LM12) and NC0 (who, it is thought, will soon start her long journey south) are continuing to provide for, and protect, these wonderful (and loud!), young juveniles. Last month, it was fantastic to see the confidence in both LR1 and LR2 when they took to the sky for the first time, as well as watching them practise their spectacular diving skills into the Loch - sights to behold! With only a short number of precious weeks that we have remaining viewing Laddie, NC0 and their family on the webcam, let us hope everything continues to go well.
11:38 A live fish from Laddie to LR1 who was on the nest
LR2 came flying in (left)
It flapped and she did extremely well to pick it up from the back left edge of the nest before it went over!
She took it to the birch to eat

14:02 A small fish from Laddie to LR1 who came onto the nest, from the birch, to take it
Off she went with it
14:55 A headless fish from NC0 (fully cropped) to LR2 who was already waiting on the nest
LR1 to the nest
NC0 left the nest and landed on the birch
LR2 kept the fish on the nest to eat
15:47 LR2 still with his fish, LR1 calling for one and NC0 on the birch
16:41 A headless fish from Laddie this time, taken immediately by LR1 (Well, LR2 did have his talons full at the time! lol)
Great to see!
Love your comment, Patily! lol
LR2 finished all of his fish apart from some skin and the tail. LR1 flapped around on the nest and accidentally found the remaining morsel when sticks were dislodged (18:40ish). She attempted to eat it.
She ended up taking it off the nest
19:45 A live fish for LR1 from Laddie. She had been on the perch calling and jumped onto the nest prior to Laddie's arrival
She flew off with it and landed on the far left branch of the birch
Morning all
The first catch of the day (that I could find) went to LR1 - a headless fish from Laddie at 6:30 (he had been eating on the birch). She was on the nest, LR2 was shouting above the cam but strangely, he didn't come down to make an attempt to claim it
She took her fish off to the birch
LR2 flapped down to the nest a little while after LR1 had flown. He found a couple of morsels that had come off from the fish and continued to shout
He flew off
It was ENS after that but he was heard shouting above the nest again just before the cam went offline at around 7:50
