As the 2021 Osprey season at Loch of the Lowes enters its final stage, it is reassuring to know how very well LR1 and LR2 are faring in the build-up to their first migration. Laddie (LM12) and NC0 (who, it is thought, will soon start her long journey south) are continuing to provide for, and protect, these wonderful (and loud!), young juveniles. Last month, it was fantastic to see the confidence in both LR1 and LR2 when they took to the sky for the first time, as well as watching them practise their spectacular diving skills into the Loch - sights to behold! With only a short number of precious weeks that we have remaining viewing Laddie, NC0 and their family on the webcam, let us hope everything continues to go well.
Good morning Both juveniles have been on the nest this morning - LR1 arrived first and was on her own for quite a while before LR2 flew onto the perch
Neither NC0 or Laddie have made an appearance as yet ENS at present

7:53 LR2 onto the nest, shouting. An adult? flapping on the birch
His white feathers look slightly damp
Flown, 8:08
He landed on the lower branch of the birch, to the right of the other Osprey
Back again less than a minute later
8:20 A small, live fish from Laddie (fully cropped). LR2 managed to pick it up before it ended up over the edge
He grabbed Laddie's foot
He put the fish down but it flapped over to the back of the nest, He pounced to contain it
With the fish firmly in his talons, he flew off with it
8:56 Another live fish from Laddie, LR2 was there to claim it
He stood on it
He took it off nest and landed on the far left branch of the birch
I wonder where LR1 is?
BFN
A shouting LR1 arrived on the nest, 9:56
10:03
11:07 After spending an hour and 11 minutes on the nest, LR1 flew off
11:16 She came back again (looking slightly damp)...and left!
A shake of her feathers
11:21 She was back on the nest again, fish calling, and took off after a minute or two. I wonder if an adult is with a fish somewhere?
The dear girl has been on and off the nest a couple more times, spending her off-nest time in the birch area. She's currently back fish calling
