Hi Sheila , confused me slightly :) it was Green 5R who did not return in 2014 , from memory Blue 33 and Maya were together 2014 and then it was as you say 2015 Blue 28 and Blue 33 . Looking forward maybe to a BirdFair 2022 and meeting up with people once again , sad not having them for 2 years .

I don't remember Blue33 the year before Blue28 turned up, I only remember 33 being too strong and being so upset about 28 losing his nest, eggs and Mrs5R. That was 2014, the year I first did some recordings of MB, eg, 28 brings a fish:
Then I've got Egg #1 with 28 present but too much rain to see, and Egg #2 with Mrs5R alone, and then on 18 April Mrs5R defending 3 eggs with "no partner":
I've got a gap in "Mrs5R" ivds until...
06 August (edited, I had put 18 April) there were no eggs on the nest.
A search using Blue28 didn't find eviction, A Blue33 search found a mating attempt on 01 May:
.
Remember this was when the LG cam was high priority, I didn't keep a good record of this nest.
The following year, this was how Blue33 won us over
If only there were time and space to put it all on the record.

I've edited my above post, there was a date error, plus I found an early sign of Blue33 courting on 01 May 2014.
