12.7.21 - LR2 fledged at 53 days old, c17:40 Blog: LR2 fledges
From little 'fluff balls' to almost fully grown ospreys, LR1 and LR2 are doing amazingly well all thanks to the fantastic ongoing care from NC0 and Laddie (LM12). Not only have we seen Laddie providing fish for his family but NC0 has been successful several times just recently as well - what first-class parents they are! There continues to be the occasional intrusion from ospreys passing through, however, the nest and chicks have been protected outstandingly. We look forward to the next exciting phase in the young ospreys' development.
Oh there's Laddie! Fish at approx. 20:52
Once again, LR2 missed out when LR1 was first to grab the fish
LR2 made an attempt to steal but was unsuccessful

After eating for a little over 10 minutes, and seeing off an attempted steal by LR2 (who got pecked by her), LR1 flew off with her fish
LR2 was excited to receive his own supper from Laddie at 21:20ish
LR2 was being pestered by a corvid (raven?) while eating and when it landed on the perch, he flapped it away.
While continuing to eat, his pesky rival was still annoying him so LR2 flew off with his fish. The corvid was quick to come onto the nest to search for any morsels
LR2's flight away (left)
It spent around 3 minutes on the nest searching for food
ENS since it left at approx. 21:38
Good morning all 5:50 A fish delivery from Laddie, LR2 arrived too late. LR1 managed to grab the flapping fish before it went over the side
6:47(ish) Laddie to the nest with a clump of nesting material, some posturing from him when NC0 came to the nest from the birch
She though he had fish
LR2 made an appearance after Laddie had flown. He food solicited then NC0 took flight.
Within a minute or two, she came back with a small fish for LR2 - she had dived from the birch for his breakfish (6:53ish)
8:05 LR2 was on the nest and found a morsel to eat within the nesting material
He's been lounging around since, still fish calling
9:00
9:04 A fish from NC0 after a dive into the Loch behind the nest. LR1 followed her in and claimed the fish before LR2 could even react
LR1 (flew from the birch) and NC0 with the fish on their way to the nest
NC0 behind LR1 (left)
9:07 A fish from Laddie while LR1 was still eating her fish from NC0. Both went to claim it but LR1 won.
LR2 found LR1's discarded fish from NC0 and proceeded to tuck into that
10:24 A dive from the low area under the birch. Possibly one of the juveniles, NC0? on her birch branch at the time
Heading back to where it had dived from
10:46 A headless fish delivery by Laddie, LR2 was alone on the nest to collect it from him
