Ringing Blog >>> Meet our newly ringed osprey chicks - LR1 and LR2
Last month, we saw all three chicks hatch but unfortunately, the third one very sadly passed away after surviving for just over two full days. Laddie and NC0 continue to nurture their two remaining chicks. Long may the good weather, as well as Laddie’s effective hunting, persist so we can continue to watch these wonderful osplets thrive.
22:01 Fish from Laddie - that woke the chicks up...or rather NC0's calls did!
NC0 had to back away due to #2's wing over her just before Laddie landed.

22:12 #2 moved away from the feed
It appears to be ok now I think but, following my last capture of #2, it was making some flicking movements with its wings and appeared to be a little unsteady
It settled under #1's tail but breathing quite quickly
22:26 Having some more fish
It was chuntering after being fed, perhaps that made it appear to be breathing quickly.
NC0 tidying up
22:40 Lying in between NC0 and #1

I see what you mean Sandra. I've looked at a few periods today on scroll back and its breathing rate is generally faster than number 1 I'd say
Thank you, Korky. I was a little concerned at the time but when watching it when lying down a short time ago, its breathing was in line with #1.
It's PS is fine!
Unless I've missed it, they don't seem to have had breakfas yet

Good morning Patily and all,
A lovely sequence of photos, Patily, thank you
7:16 Still waiting for breakfish to be delivered. NC0 had taken a break
On her return, #1 pecked at NC0 a couple of times...very feisty!
Birdies LG DU update.
Morning Mike, The VC is continuing to have 'closed' days and restricted visiting times so I'd imagine that's what that means. As for the interruption to the LS, perhaps it's to do with internet updates? Would love it to mean involving a ringing process! lol
8:05 At 35 days old, #1 is huge!
Breakfish still hasn't arrived.
Off to work shortly. BFN
