Absolutely delighted to have watched three precious eggs being laid. Laddie and NC0 have perfected their incubation duties and, through trying times during April, defended them and the nest from multiple intruding Ospreys. Hopefully, it will not be too long until we see three chicks being cared for by their super parents.
17:45 A zoom on Laddie who was sitting on the pine tree to the left of the nest! He flew onto it from behind the trees at the back of the nest
Landing
©SWT/LotL
He flew from there and settled on a tree on the right, behind the nest, I couldn't see him after that
There was a fish delivery at 18:45
Bob was fed very well!
It turned away from the feed
NC0 did try to entice little one to eat more on a few occasions but it wasn't interested
NC0 swallowed the fish tail
Cam operator zoomed in approx. 19:35 ish. There is more progression with the pip (right egg, top centre)
And another view
She took a break at around 19:57 and came back with a stick
Chick did do a PS while waiting for NC0 to come back
20:27 Well done, Laddie - headless fish delivered!
IMAGICAT
I hope the stick gets moved away from the nest cup. Laddie dislodged it when he flew off
During the short feed, bob appeared to struggle with a piece of fish...
In its attempt to shake it out, toppled onto its left side
It soon righted itself...
then rolled onto its right side
All was well though as NC0 settled to brood/incubate. I think we have a very tired bob!
Remainder of the fish was left on the nest
Keep working little one...
