Pine Marten on the nest at midnight!
LizB has just put up a video of it on FOLA Geemeff - not good news I am afraid. Maybe the adverse weather affected the defences put in place to prevent this happening.
Yes indeed. Either a branch down acting as a bridge or the electrics in the sleeve shorted out. EJ was special! Could Aila be so brave? Remember how quickly she took off at the first sight of the ringers very far away.
I will just be happy and relieved to see Aila back safely first, then we can start worrying about Pine Martin's. Which no doubt we will.
Just now on the nest

Was having a wrestle with that large branch but now looking outwards for his mate?

I'm wondering if they've shut off the livestream because someone is out there checking the defences after the Pine Marten visit last night, and the human intruder yesterday afternoon.
EDIT: WT chat says youtube have a world wide problem. Glaslyn is also down. But, a nest I watch in Estonia is still up, so who knows. But not tree-defence checking.

All the other UK nestcams I watch are OK - Glaslyn has its own problems which recur every few days, nothing to do with YouTube.
Whatever it is, I hope WT can sort it out - it's bad enough luck for them having our resident couple being late... and the pine marten... :(((
I must say, I've noticed this cam has been a bit juddery for some time, and wondered if the higher resolution they mentioned had put a strain on the system.
