March thread.
This post updated 01 June
MrsG returned on the 25th of March and was joined by Aran on the 29th.
(The beginning of the reunion video is a must-see for all fans of MrsG - I'm posting it today 01 June, to remind us of a happy time before the tragedies of May 2021.)
The month of May brought unrelenting wind, rain and corvids, as well as persistent intruder KS8 (among others) - and Aran somehow injured his right wing, rendering him unable to fish. Within a few days all the chicks had sickened and died. It could hardly have been more stressful for MrsG and Aran, but they are recovering together while the caring Glaslyn team is supplying fish each night.
(The chicks' bodies have been removed from the nest by Aran and MrsG, so we shall never know the cause of their deaths.)
In the right margin of this page are links to Glaslyn's posts documenting the misfortunes on the nest.

Birdies LG DU update.
Here was (probably) Aran leaving the tree in a downward float:
Over and over again a corvid would take interest in the fish but it didn't get taken away - so far:
The little Redstart was back, darting around the nest for some minutes - but too far away for snaps.
There were a couple more very distant scenes of osprey on treetops, and this was the closing scene - fishes still there, showing that Aran doesn't need them cos he's catching his own.
Around midday the cam roamed and found what I think was Aran on the dead topped tree. No wind, so the view wasn't impeded by the near flora
He was preening and at approx 12.15 he stretched his wing
He flew off at approx a minute or two later
One or two snippets from chat
13:49 BGGW VC We can see one of the pair eating a fish on the electric pole tree but we cannot see the head to tell which one it is. Just an ospreys rear end bending down at each bite.
Cirrus asked about the ambient noise which is quite discernible
14:29 BGGW VC It was mentioned by someone that they are White-tailed Bumble Bees. Possibly attracted by the nectar on the fresh fruiting bodies of the tree.

Here is some of the day. Apparently Z1 & Z2 (Aeron and Tegid) were chasing KS8 but I couldn't pick anyone out, I did omit some sky views where I just couldn't see anyone.
