Many thanks, Alan, for the updates on ringing at Threave and Loch Doon. Good to know they both had three chicks, particularly with the losses on other various nests.

Wow. Not very often they fit transmitters to ospreys these days

My personal thought is that they are cumbersome and intrusive on the youngsters.
Do they provide any information that is of benefit to Ospreys, or are they just fitted to satisfy human curiosity?

Thanks for posting these lovely pictures, Olaf. I’ve not checked in on the nest for ages so it’s great to see the young ones looking great! A few years ago I was told they do not ring the young ones on this nest because they want to keep human intervention to an absolute minimum.
