I don’t know him at all, but have seen some of his previous flights of fancy on the live chat. Once he said that CJ7 had been back to Rutland, which sent BoPH into a flap, but he then said he made it up… I think it’s just a bit of fun banter with the other chatters.

Peter has a reputation for 'mischief'. He regularly predicts the arrival of birds in the Spring and such predictions are pure speculation usually very wide of the mark despite his apparent 'information! Alison has summed it up perfectly!

Ah, I see. Thanks, Alison and Mike, I stand forewarned. I wonder if perhaps he has too much time on his hands and little or no opportunity to do something a bit more useful. My Dad would have said, "Why doesn't he just knit some socks for someone, or do something else equally useful?!" I suppose that at least such posts as Peter's are only annoyingly misleading but not overly malicious. Does he post just as 'Peter' or does he use a surname as well?

Goodness me, ALISON, he really is a mischief-maker - thank goodness I added the caveat, but innocent readers who don't know him might spread his misinfo abroad

As you can see from the Chat snap, he just uses "Peter" - maybe he posts elsewhere with full name?

Anyway, I sincerely hope there's more than a grain of truth in his "news"

There was a dreadful heath fire at Studland last night. It's south of Poole Harbour

I feared for the worst last night after seeing the fire in the distance, It looked really bad, and with that wind I thought it would be catastrophic.
The fire crews did a great job, getting it under control and extinguished in a matter of hours.
After seeing the photos taken in the light of day today, yes it's not very nice, but there is a lot less damage than it looked like there was going to be.
