Poole Harbour Osprey Project 2021 Season

Not that I'm expecting it after RICHARD's advice, but no Nightjar seen since the early morning of the 25th, and this is how the concentrated peering gets one (me,anyway) - I was sure an insect was glistening on the tip of the perch but must have imagined it:

There was a Hobby on the nest at 1145 yesterday Scylla.

022 came to the nest at 1252 then mantled at a following unringed bird

I nearly gave up on that one - it simply would not appear, fell between the cracks or something - but we got there in the end.  I wouldn't have mistaken it for a Kestrel, even if I couldn't recognise it as a Hobby

Then I accidentally found 022 landing, with another osprey flying away - as if it had been on the campost but I couldn't detect it there because of tappings from other sources:

I dread to think I'm going to have to divide clips into 15-minute lengths in order not to miss "people".

I just don't know how you manage it all.

I think we must be waiting for a new spider to take over this prime real estate, as there's been no web development for... maybe 4 nights?  It's remained exactly like this:

We had a lean 'n hungry unringed male on the nest briefly this morning.  It was under pressure from a second osprey, only glimpsed overhead.
