Osprey Sightings 2021

First sighting UK on BirdGuides , I was a little worried about the 'going south' bit , perhaps it thought it was a tad early !!!!!! :) Sat 20 Feb 2021 13:00 Orpington London one reported flying south late morning

Then definitely not a Buzzard if it was actually fishing! Saw the report first elsewhere, but thanks, Alan and Valerie. Hope the bird survives until the weather becomes more suitable for Ospreys.

Exciting times ahead!

For those not familiar, Weir Wood is a known location, south of East Grinstead, for Ospreys both inbound at this time of the year and again in the Autumn.
Visits at this time of year are often fleeting as the birds are heading North but in the Autumn they may stay longer to fish and feed up before crossing The Channel.

Lisa, the site mentioned is near my home and the weather, in recent days, has warmed up considerably. We have temperatures in the 10-11deg range and the forecast is for them to rise to 14 throughout the coming week. 

In short not bad for an Osprey!
