Morning/evening all: Off to catch up on today's posts.
The River Spey
Your amazing water from the hills sounds wonderful Wendy and, thanks, your mention of Gin reminds me...I have run out of tonic. Regarding whisky, I have various bottles of Scottish single malt whiskies ie. Isle of Jura, Talisker, Lagavulin and Glenmorangie but being quite new to drinking whisky have never heard of or tried Welsh whisky.
The woodburner sounds great too. I was going to get a real woodburner but ended up with a gas lookalike. A real one would have been much more pricey plus involve quite a bit of work doing on the chimney above the inglenook where it would sit. All in all a bit too expensive for me but thankfully, unlike you, I do have piped gas.

Another go...
-- hurray!
Now here's something more colourful, from our holiday - flowers along a street:
Annette, re the printer, no that has never happened to me. How strange!
Very pretty snow, Wendy!
Wow, great! Congratulations Linda...well done you! Lovely pics :)
Wow! Some snow Wendy! Love the pics, especially the one of the Spey.
ChloeB: Welsh whisky goes under tthe name Penderyn. Lots of Scandinavian countries try and make whisky and the coppersmiths from Dufftown go over and make the stills for them. Japan is very famous in the making of whisky and have won many awards for it.
My woodburner is actually in the room so as all sided get hot none of the heat goes up the chimney. It is so easy to clean and as wood burns away to nothing ash only gets taken out every couple of weeks. Would love mains gas as you get much better pork crackling from a gas oven. I love my ceramic hob but my dream would be ceramic hob and mains gas oven.
I love the Spey as it looks special whatever season it is.
DJOAN ok I give in. what please is a skemmie?
WENDY great pics, glad you are well organised in this weather. Friends father picked me up as we were going to N Kessock for the day. Had trouble getting here due to crash on adjacent road (bus and car) within an hour same thing happened further along same road. Anyway friend and I had a good day and v. good fish and chip lunch at the hotel. My OH picked us up at 3. 30, so we are all home safe and sound though friend talking about driving to Aviemore this eve, hope she doesn't as the conditions will only get trickier.
Thanks for the whisky info Wendy, very interesting. I must look out for Penderyn next time I am in Wales.
I have seen the free-standing woodburners. Does yours vent through the wall then? I wouldn't know about the pork crackling as I don't eat pork...am pretty well veggie except for chicken and fish :) Does that go for roast potatoes as well? I have always cooked with gas so have nothing to compare.
Yes the Spey is indeed a beautiful river. Haven't been in that area for a couple of years now so am due another visit.
