The three juveniles are thriving under Mrs G and Aran's continued care, proving once again what formidable parents they are. Long may the season continue to be be hassle-free as it nears the time for migration

  • What wonderful coverage, Scylla, and commentary, particularly duri these Tring temperatures. Thank you so much. Oh for cooler nights and some rain!
  • KC2 came to the perch and stayed until just before switchover to nightcam view:

  • I must have had the posting box open while taking ages over that video and checking Chat for the ID.  Didn't see you there, SHEILA.

That must be an iPad or Android tablet Grin  But I know exactly what you mean and I am dying to pack up, I've got 2 fans throwing hot air at me and can hardly breathe!

And now I've had to waste even more time because the hot-face emoji won't work here so that's a snap.

  • I'm here and at it, but it'll be some time before I post.

A bit worried, as I glimpsed one of the juves give MrsG a very nasty peck in the face when MrsG tried to take her fish, let's hope she comes back and shows us she's fine and hasn't got a hole in her eye!

  • Good grief, Scylla, I just scrolled back to watch that! Scream It was KC4 who was the feisty juvenile!  Mrs G flew to the perch and looked none the worse for wear - thankfully!

Apologies if you will be adding these snaps to your next report

  • First morning activity - I've claimed it's KC3 with a stick but who knows?

(I did it from download without timeline because I think the picture is better than my screen-capture.)

Whoever it was, they flew off @ 07:37.

    BREAKFISH!

This is easy enough (with magnifier) - KC3 has the fish, it's not a flounder, and those are Aran's feetz leaving:

Then KC4 arrived to contest ownership:

    So far, so good:

KC3 prevailed (and ended up finishing the smallish fish):

    MrsG was watching them:

KC2 dived in via a pop-on/off the perch:

09:09 Aran brought a FLOUNDER, which KC4 got:

    KC3 flew off, leaving L-to-R KC2, KC4 and MrsG:

The flounder was still flapping, here's its tail giving KC4's tail a bonk:

09:39 Mercifully, Aran brought a well-eaten fish which KC2 got, of course:

It turned out to be a small headless flounder:

Then the vicious peck - KC4 was in a bad temper due to Raven intrusion, then poor MrsG thought that she had finished eating and made to take the fish, fatefully Open mouthDisappointed relieved

Hopefully it was just the forehead but MrsG sure felt it!

I'm about to sign off when...

    KC2 (I think) has just received a fish from Aran, NO !!!  It's KC3 !!!

Another juve has arrived but I can't tell who.

    KC2.

KC3 flew with fish @ 11:51, KC2 pancaked for a while and flew off 5 minutes later.

12:13 KC4 landed for one minute only.

13:01 An osprey's hindmost parts appeared on the very end of the perch... flew to nest and lay down, turned out to be KC2 again.  After a long while indistinctly on the perch she flew off @ 13:57.

    Next up, KC4:

    Then KC2:

KC4 got this, KC2 gave up and flew @ 15:01:

KC4 ate until 15:42, when she flew off with a good tail end.

Thus endeth the latest session, ENS till now.

  • KC2 stayed a couple of minutes:

  • KC2 got a small whole fish from Aran and flew with it pronto.  That's KC3 in the background, he didn't seriously threaten.
