The three juveniles are thriving under Mrs G and Aran's continued care, proving once again what formidable parents they are. Long may the season continue to be be hassle-free as it nears the time for migration

  • I'm not sure this will work, I'm on my phone. Glaslyn blog confirming Mrs G had left. She was last seen at 5.57am yesterday -  Saturday 5 September 2020.

I can't see how to do a smart link, sorry

I think you're wonderful for being able to post any link via your phone, SHEILA Open mouthOpen mouthOpen mouth

06 Sept continuing from where I left off

KC4 ate on the nest undisturbed and flew with her fish @ 11:18.

The cam had been focused on this osprey for 15 minutes when it flew off:

    Then we had a sheep:

Unfortnately, after the cam was changed back to the nest the YT quality needed to be reset and I wasn't watching so it wasn't done until sometime after nightcam :(  Hence fuzzy shots from now on.

The corvids were on 'n off the nest:

See what I mean?  I can't repair it:

I'm up to where SHEILA reported the juvies flying off but I can't quote it from here:

KC3 was back to receive a fish from Aran, KC4 flew in too late:

KC3 ate some on the nest and flew with the rest, KC4 waited a while and flew, then returned to get her own fish from Aran:

    Shame about the fuzz :'(

    16:36 she flew with fish.

Yay!  Heather changed to this view and fixed the fuzz with no input from me ;)

Aran with FISH !!!  He's looking good :-*

Cam left the scene so missed handover, it was KC3 who got it and flew with it a moment after this shot:

That was the last we saw of any of the family for the evening/night.

  • 07 September

07:46 minus one second, KC4 landed on the perch.  KC3 landed on the nest 30 seconds later, but didn't stay long.

A headless FLOUNDER arrived @ 08:08 and KC4 got it (video because I don't know why):

KC3 is waiting, they're both doing a lot of looking out rather than focusing on the fish - this shot doesn't represent current activities but I wanted to get their dear faces ;)

  • 08:53 KC3 flew to the perch but came back before KC4 had finished eating.

09:06 KC4 flew, leaving a meagre tail on the fence, which KC3 pounced on and flew with:

KC3 came back to the perch shortly after but now for long, it's been ENP and ENS for some time now.

    G'night folks, SYAL.

  • A lovely update, Scylla, thank you.

KC3 came to the nest to wait for Aran, who brought in a headless trout at 13.06.  He kept looking around until KC4 landed on the perch, calling for her fish.  KC3 wasn't going to share, so he flew off, leaving KC4 on the perch waiting and calling.

    KC3 grabs the fish

Aran flies off, and KC4 arrives on the perch

KC3 flew off and we had some beautiful views of KC5 as she called and waited for her fish

I just don't know when to stop!  Such a beautiful osprey!
