Beautiful female, Rutland's CJ7:
The hoped-for partner for CJ7, local male LS7, has not yet appeared. CJ has been tending the nest daily and yesterday she took everyone by surprise, producing an egg - which took us by surprise by surviving... until midnight at least ;)

It's taken me ages to find it, MARY - couldn't do so until I thought I might have titled it "trespassers", then bingo! I didn't realise it was so long ago!
Plenty Raven visits again, after this Robin crossed the nest 06:33. I couldn't crop it, as it used up the whole screen from side to side:
That's all I found of note today so far.

In her (I hope temporary) absence, I've just finished a watercolour painting of CJ7 inspired by a photo taken by local photographer Mark Wright.

That is amazing, Alison...you are extremely talented. Many thanks for sharing the pictures which show the progression of your CJ7 artwork from start to end result - SUPERB!

How beautiful! Thank you for sharing, ALISON
It wasn't quiet this afternoon - I've just come upon a Buzzard (I hope) playing on the nest and being pestered by Ravens.
A holding snap:
However, my stream glitched furiously, as it always seems to do when anything substantial lands on the nest - but on YT rollback it looks OK so I'm re-recording it from screen-capture and will be a long time composing a vid.
I thought it was quite "interesting and/or entertaining" all the way thru so hardly edited it.
The first session @ 15:30 was 8 glitchy minutes long and we lost the bird's exit
The second session, including pesky noisy Ravens, is relatively glitch-free and onlly just over 2 minutes long:
Now I'll make Alison proud of me ;)
