Last season Louis and Aila arrived on their nest almost at the same instant on the 4th of April. Here's to a repeat, but a few days earlier to save our anxiety.

IMAGICAT
Louis about to leave for the last time last evening:
21:52-21:57 there were a few minutes missing - Aila was in a slightly different position before and after.
Watchful:
A post-poop wing-stretch:
There were a couple more wing warnings but no alarms - she didn't get much sleep tho, was always alert.
Louis arrived nice and early, fishless, took over:
Aila wasn't gone very long:
She didn't have to get violent but had to wait quite a few minutes and fidget before Louis would get up:
She's been getting some of the shut-eye she missed out on overnight :-*
Another changeover at 06.38 Louis arrived empty taloned though. At least he is giving Aila a break, and that big fish yesterday will have kept her going for a while.

9.01, Louis pole vaults in, he had to circle round after the first aborted attempt. He hovers for a split second to get the stick & himself safely onto the nest. Inevitably, the stick ends up on top of Aila. It sounds like he is pleased with himself as he chirps away. Ian

Ian I seen a video of that on FOA FB group it was absolutely hilarious. Louis and Aila are such a delight to watch.

© THE WOODLAND TRUST, LOCH ARKAIG OSPREY PROJECT - POST CODE LOTTERY
14.29, Louis brings in a headless fish. Aila takes off with it in her beak. Before that at 12.34 an osprey (I think) flew over the nest. It could have been Aila as Louis showed no concern at all. Watching live I could have sworn that at 12.32 an osprey flew past the front of the nest but on scroll-back I can't find it. I also at one point heard off-camera chipping when Aila replaced Louis on the nest, but again she didn't look at all bothered. Ian
EDIT - the first fly-past was at 12.29, no wonder I couldn't find it at 12.32!
