Last season Louis and Aila arrived on their nest almost at the same instant on the 4th of April. Here's to a repeat, but a few days earlier to save our anxiety.

IMAGICAT
A hasty rayzoomay of the morning so far.
The lurver has revived, IAN ;)
I can't tell which is which without more clues. And I haven't resized any of the pics before or after Aila's cropped one, am hoping their low rez will allow them thru.
It's very windy and they float-flying.
Away:
Same one or the other partner?
This one didn't take:
A flyaround and landing ;)
Waiting:
I'm not sure if Louis suspects an intruder, but there's no-one immediately threatening:
That won't be bang up-to-date.
Thanks for the updates. Scylla, I think your 04.41 picture is Louis & 04.52 ia Aila. On a sideways view of the head, Louis' dark streak is unbroken under his eyes whereas Aila has white patches immediately below her eyes. If visible, Louis has a moustache like marking under his beak, Aila has a goatee beard (even though she is female!!). Not much has happened since 06.11 (Scylla's most recent post), Louis brought in one clump of moss & spent quite a bit of time trying out the nest cup (or using Sandra's Tweed Valley classification "nest bowl"). If I didn't know better, I would have thought he was using Aila as a convenient wind-break as she was standing right nest to him as he was in the cup. Ian EDIT - as I was typing this, there was a mating at 08.16. I'm not sure it was a success, he tried three times to elicit a response but none was forthcoming.
patily said:Louis just bought a long, multi-branched stick that he is still fiddling with on the right hand side
I missed that at 08.06, shows how reliable I am (not) :) Ian
There has been a lot of in and out's this morning.
Louis incubates a phantom egg, "just getting some practice in Aila"
Aila watching Louis as he brings in a stick
Aww Naw! where does he think this will go
Louis potters about with his new furnishings
Then they both stand back to admire the view faces into the wind! looks a bit breezy there this morning
They do look so good together

08.51, another failed mating attempt. Louis moves the big stick Patily reported, it now looks like it is about to fall off the nest. Ian
Nice morning

11.27, Aila shoots off alarm calling. Ian
EDIT - she is back at 12.15. Just before she came back, Louis landed with a headless fish but took off immediately. There was another osprey in view, I don't know if it was Aila or an intruder.
