Last season Louis and Aila arrived on their nest almost at the same instant on the 4th of April. Here's to a repeat, but a few days earlier to save our anxiety.

Oh what gorgeous snaps this morning, MARY! :o
I can only add a couple from last night, just to show Aila just before she left @ 20:10:
And then a surprise, when Louis flew in @ 21:05, he stayed less than a minute - I hope the pesky Raccoon (no) Opossum (no) ... I can't think of its name !!! isn't around :(
G'night everyone :)
I get these moments too Scylla so you are not alone, when the right word just will not come.
I love this cap of them together touching tails.
Aila says "what are you up to back there Louis"

13.49, they both come back to the nest, Aila first still with her fish (see 13.01). She lets Louis take the fish, Louis flies with it. Aila is still on the nest. Ian
EDIT - Louis returned as I was typing my post. He didn't bring any fish back! Aila jumps up to the camera at 14.36.
14.44, Aila brings in a decent sized piece of bark (I think). 14.46, successful mating (on the nest this time).
Here's a question. Louis turned his tail to his left for the mating, I've never noticed before if he always turns it in this direction (although I think he might do so) nor if other osprey males turn their tail to the left or right or a mixture of the two. Answers on a postcard please.
Ian
15.21, Aila jumps up to the camera. 15.23, Louis tries the nest cup for size. The wind has picked up, Louis is looking very windswept at 15.34 he has to put his wing out to help him keep his balance. Ian
