Last season Louis and Aila arrived on their nest almost at the same instant on the 4th of April. Here's to a repeat, but a few days earlier to save our anxiety.

Aila didn't take long to polish off her breakfast
08.13, good morning to all. Aila is now on the nest beside Louis. All looks well in the world for our pair. Courtesy of BBC Radio Three, this being Good Friday, I have a number of Bach pieces to listen to today. My posts may therefore not be very frequent. Ian
08.20, successful mating (he sensibkly waited until Aila was on the nest this time unlike the fiasco on the perch yesterday). Louis flies but comes back at 08.22 with a large clump of moss. . Ian
08.40, Louis does another of his graceful glides down the glen but for good measure he circles back towards us under & behind the nest, then repeats the circuit. Aila also glides off to the right at 08.42, 08.47, a nice stick from Louis. Aila is back on the perch at 08.55. Ian
Significant items since c. 09.00. 09.40, Aila has a good old stretch on the perch.10.25, successful mating. 11.25, Louis brings in bedding material. 12.03, successful mating. Aila is currently on the nest, it must be about time she had lunch. Ian
12.54, Aila is looking skyward and gives a couple of calls. She doesn't look terribly bothered by whatever is overhead. 13.01, Aila left the nest but not in any panic. Ian
14.27, Aila comes back with a clump of moss, but flies off with it still in her talons. She returns & potters about with the moss and a stick. At 14.35, she flies off quickly and alarm calling. Ian
14.43, Aila comes back followed by Louis with a whole fish. She doesn't try to take it and Louis mantles over it then flies off with it. She is calling loudly for the fish. Hopefully he will bring it back once he has taken care of the head.
14.55, Louis obliges and brings back the headless fish which Aila grabs straightaway and flies off with. Louis occupies himself with nestcupping & general pottering about.
