NEWS FROM OTHER NESTS - 2020

Much respect to Iris with this enormous fish I had to do a video.

For those who do not know, the nest failed this year, Iris is not a young Osprey she is over 10 years old, the nest is in Missoula, Montana. You see her flying past in slow-mo at the beginning of the video carrying the fish - all I can say is WOW Iris!

That was some size of fish! Little wonder she needed a wee while to sit before starting to eat it! A sorry state the nest is and a shame about no young this year.

I know Starling, I equate Hellgate to LG, some not so nice years, it is sad when an older Osprey returns and no chicks to show for it.    I am just amazed she could carry that size of fish.

Boulder County -  This was the nest that lost 3 eggs in the snow laid another 3, had 2 eggs hatch.  The final chick has died, so, so sad, heartbreaking

Starling, that is so sad. Some time ago I thought I read something about later eggs being (what's the word?) somehow 'not as good' as earlier eggs. Please will any experts tell us if that is true or if it is rubbish and a figment of my imagination?!
