2019 season summary: Laddie (LM12) arrived back from migration on Friday 15th March; Lassie (LM15) on Saturday 23rd March. Lassie laid 3 eggs on 4th, 7th and 10th April, hatching 11th, 12th and 16th May. Sadly, on 26th May the third chick died. The remaining two chicks were ringed on 26th June as follows: #1 Blue PT4 (M)* #2 Blue PT5 (M)*. They successfully fledged and subsequently set off for their first migration on 14th/15th August. Laddie left around the same time as the youngsters and it is thought that Lassie had already started her journey south approximately 2 weeks prior.

Both Ospreys (unringed) have been a breeding pair on this nest since 2015, after the iconic 'Lady' failed to return.

Looking forward to Laddie and Lassie's safe homecoming and a very successful 2020 breeding season
Laddie (LM12) arrived back to LotL at 15:33 on 21st March. Blog here>

Laddie was on the nest about 16 minutes ago, "stood standing there" as Scylla would say
Looking all around him, oh I do hope Lassie arrives soon, I know there is still plenty of time, it is the being overdue that makes me anxious for her, plus seeing him on his own scanning the skies for her.

Sky Dancing again at 06.21 am. Maybe Laddie is Sky Dancing to attract ANY passing female.
He has just flown on to the nest now.
Laddie is on the nest now with a fish, so no doubt that was why he was Sky Dancing :-)
Still plenty of time for her Patily, but it is only natural we will fret because she is overdue compared to her previous dates.
Only 4 days late at the moment...…. could be weather or any kind of circumstance that has held her up this year.

I've got him landing, very empty-cropped, @ 05:32, he only stayed a couple of minutes:
It didn't look like him, had to check the back of his head:
Then back with his fish, left @ 06:45:
I'm determined to be extremely worried about (((Lassie)))
IMAGICAT
I thought of her too Ian, but wasn't really sure.....
Laddie brought in a monster stick several minutes ago and plonked it down in the middle of the nest.
No doubt he will come back and put it into place later.
I am away for a bit, breakfast etc (not that I am going anywhere)
Holidays this year will be the bedroom, kitchen (for eating) , lounge, garden (Sigh)!
