BBC4 "New Forest - A Year in the Wild Wood" featured an attempt to find a Nightjar. I hoped to set the link @ 37 minutes into the programme but can't see a YouTube-like handy link.
EDIT - It worked! You just get a little bit of Curlew first.
IMAGICAT
Agreed! Cooper’s! I took some pics of some young Coopers in my back garden some years ago. Here’s three:
Speaking of hawks…. Last Saturday there was a huge commotion outside my front door. Blue Jays were going crazy sounding the alarm. I looked up to find a Red-Tailed Hawk, with a dead squirrel in its talons, looking down at me. Took some photos and a videos. Hope they open:
tried to post vid of hawk but couldn’t. Argh.
Manton Bay

Boreal Ontario
The Ruffed Grouse didn't stay long, and the Grosbeaks were glad to see the back of it. Still no display.
Oh what a shame! I expect it's too big to upload - you'll probably have to have it hosted elsewhere, like YouTube, and post the link here in the Insert box.
Great pictures tho
Thank you, LIsa!
EDIT - Well you don't have to enter it in the Insert box - as long as the link is on the page we can watch it.
The albatross season has begun!
'Welcome to Quarry Track, the new nest location for the 2021-22 Royal Albatross cam season. We are excited to announce that this season we'll be featuring some old friends on cam, as male OGK and female YRK return for another breeding attempt at the Taiaroa Head Nature Reserve on New Zealand's South Island. This pair was most recently featured during the 2019-20 season when they successfully raised star chick Atawhai to fledging. The pair is currently caring for a fertile egg, laid on the November 9'
Thanks to Cornell and DOC
I wonder if CLARE might pop in and confirm that this was a Herring Gull - or, disappointingly for me, deny it.
TWO corrections now - both to Great Black-backed.

BIRDSONG on YouTube says it's more likely a Black-backed. That would make sense, I've seen them here before.
