The 2 chicks were ringed on 4 July and assessed as female. They were given ring numbers JJ0 and JJ2, and later named by popular vote as Mallie and Rannoch. Both weighed 1.49kg on ringing but will weigh a lot more now after a further month's-worth of protein-packed-piscine-parenting. The WT subsequently said they thought Mallie may be male. S/he fledged on 20 July and Rannoch on 27 July.

It was all a blur, but here's dear Louis:
This is the best I can do - it shouldn't take too long to finish!

Afternoon, Everyone, Many thanks for the pics and posts. ENS. Just dipping in here before we head out again shortly. Sheila, There's absolutely no need for apologising yesterday afternoon--in fact, I thought it was funny (that's funny as in amusing, not as in strange!) that you are quicker than I am at posting! And it is just as well that you are quick, because as mentioned above, I can only dip in and out at irregular times. I'm very grateful to you and all the other posters who are dedicated in posting information and captures on this and other Osprey and non-Osprey threads.
Kind regards, Ann
